🌍 What is DigitalConnections2025?

DigitalConnections2025 is a pioneering virtual mobility program that brings together 20-30 young leaders from across the globe to explore the critical intersections of intercultural dialogue and artificial intelligence. Over four interactive sessions in November 2025, participants will develop intercultural competence while critically examining how AI influences societies across different cultural contexts.

This program combines expert-led lectures, peer-to-peer dialogue, and collaborative projects to equip young changemakers with the tools needed to navigate our increasingly complex, technology-driven world with empathy, ethics, and cultural awareness.

Intercultural Communication: Master the fundamentals of cross-cultural dialogue and develop skills to bridge differences in our globalized world.

AI Literacy: Gain accessible introductions to artificial intelligence, its applications, opportunities, and risks across different cultural contexts.

Ethics & Safety: Critically examine AI bias, responsibility, human impact, and safety considerations from multiple cultural perspectives.

Global Governance: Explore how different cultures approach AI governance and the challenges of international cooperation in technology policy.

📅 Program Structure

Four Live Sessions: Saturdays, 8, 15, 22, 29 November 2025
Time: 9:00-11:00 AM UTC (Convert to your local time)

Session Topics:

Basics of Intercultural Communication & Introduction to AI
AI Safety: Risks and Opportunities
AI Ethics: Bias, Responsibility, and Human Impact
AI Governance & Intercultural Perspectives

Group Project: Collaborative creation of content (video, podcast, essay) exploring "AI through various cultural lenses"

Additional Activities:

Pre-program preparation materials (1-7 November)
Peer exchange exercises between sessions
Reflection submissions to track learning progress

🎓 Who Can Apply?

We welcome applications from youth aged 18-30 globally, including:

University students and recent graduates
Young professionals in any field
Youth activists and community leaders
Anyone curious about intercultural dialogue and emerging technologies

No prior AI expertise required – curiosity, openness to dialogue, and willingness to collaborate across cultures are our key criteria.

🌟 Selection Criteria

High motivation to participate in all four sessions and group project phase
Completion of BlueDot Future of AI course (before application or latest October 20, 2025 - we will ask you upon confirmation of your spot)
Genuine interest in intercultural dialogue and AI
Applications demonstrating personal interest and authentic voice
Willingness to collaborate respectfully across cultural differences
Preference given to applicants with demonstrated civic engagement

By completing DigitalConnections2025, participants will have:

Enhanced intercultural competence and ability to engage diverse perspectives
Foundational knowledge of AI ethics, safety, and governance debates

Intercultural Connections is a social initiative dedicated to fostering intercultural learning and reducing biases by connecting youth across cultures, borders, and socio-economic backgrounds. Our programs have successfully brought together participants from over 17 countries, with 96% reporting perspective changes and 100% planning to apply their learnings to future endeavors.
